I’m scheduled for the custom Lasik surgery on Tuesday and was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with laser eye correction, good or bad, just share with me if you would.
Thanks!
yes i did 8 years ago. i love it. you will feel NO pain. you may smell something and you will see grey for a second or so, but its over before you know it. trust me i am a big chicken. and i was fine. i was a -4.25 and now after 8 years i am a -50 i am older now and being in my 40s i can see a little of a change but that comes with age. i know you will love it. good luck. oh your eyes are a little tender for a couple of weeks and you may have some visual changes (nothing big) because your eyes are healing.
I WON!!! Thanks to everyone who VOTED!!!!

You don’t have to register, just vote for “Denial” in the drop down.
“Sarah in Africa” is a really good one for the serious category too.
I made this video as an entry into the Hoopes Vision Free Lasik Contest. They told us to be creative in telling them why we want lasik.
So I hate to be “that guy” but do me the favor of rating the video and passing it on to your friends if you find it the least bit entertaining.
Thanks!

Cataract Eye Surgery. This 3D medical animation depicts the phacoemulsification and extracapsular removal of a cataract (cloudy lens), and the placement of an artificial lens.
The lens of the eye is responsible for focusing images onto the back of the eye. It is normally transparent. As a normal part of aging, the lens begins to cloud and causes a gradual, painless loss in vision. Cataract removal is most often performed to better examine the back of the eye when monitoring for damage from certain diseases such as diabetes or glaucoma and to improve vision. There are two main types of cataract removal. The large majority of cataract surgeries are performed using the phacoemulsification technique. During the phacoemulsification technique an ultrasound probe breaks the cloudy lens into tiny fragments. The fragments are vacuumed out through a tiny incision. An intraocular lens implant is then inserted to replace the natural lens that was removed. Because the incision is tiny, stitches are often not necessary and visual improvement is usually noted relatively soon after surgery. During the extracapsular technique the cataract is removed as one entire piece. This requires a larger incision and stitches. An intraocular lens implant (artificial lens) is inserted to replace the natural lens that was removed. Recovery is usually slower, due to the larger incision. The stitches sometimes need to be removed, which is usually done in the office. After both procedures, the surgeon usually places a patch over the eye. ANCE00193

where can i get inexpensive lasik eye surgery in long island ny? i hate wearing glasses now, i am so sick and tired of relying on them!!
Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
I read up on requirements and it said No radial Keraotomy or something to that affect i looked up what that was and it is laser eye surgery. However I proceded to look up LASIK eye surgery which is now much more common and it is not The same as Radial Keraotomy (miss spelling, I know, sorry.) its a different kind of surgery so I don’t no. Help please ![]()
Jeeper, your advice if someone took it could disqualify them for Air Force SOF service. You should do more research or cease answering questions like this if you aren’t interested in providing accurate information.
LASIK will disqualify you for Military Free Fall. If you can’t attend MFF, you can’t be an STO, CRO, PJ or CCT. It’s a requirement for all of those jobs.
PRK and LASEK are your only two options if you wish to serve in Air Force SOF.
We’ve had better results with PRK and the waiver process is getting faster. For those already on active duty, it’s only a 6 month wait now. For those that have the surgery done as civilians, it is still 1 year but if someone really pushes for the waiver, it can be a bit less.
LASEK is a year regardless, active duty or civilian.
Go over to www.specialtactics.com. The policies are posted on the site, it’s also the only source you should reference when seeking information about USAF Special Operations.
